This was announced by the military commissar of the Lvov region Alexander Tishchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“First of all, I want to say that there was no raid. We held such events every day. On November 3, from 23:00 to 24:00, 12 summonses were handed to conscripts. Subpoenas were handed to those who were in the database of draft dodgers. The citizens were issued a summons; they were all supposed to appear at the military registration and enlistment office this morning. The [Krivaya Lipa] lane itself was not blocked. These were measures to search for citizens for military service. There was nothing illegal on the part of the military registration and enlistment office,” Tishchenko said.
The military commissar also said that there were patrol policemen along with the employees of the military commissariat. They were practicing Operation Migrant, tracking migrants who were illegally in Ukraine.
Tishchenko said that the conscription in the Lviv region was completed by 60%. By November 28, 700 people must be called up for military service.
In general, the number of draft dodgers in the Lviv region is estimated at 15 thousand people.
According to Tishchenko, the military commissariat previously held similar events at the Shuvar market, as well as in cafes and restaurants of the Lokal chain.
Let us remind you that on the night of November 4 in Lviv, about 20 military personnel and several police officers blocked the Krivaya Lipa lane, popular among young people, and began checking documents. For his part, the Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Oleg Sinyutka said that he approves of raids by military registration and enlistment offices on nightclubs.
