Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan spoke about this during a meeting with the chairman of the board of directors of the Chinese corporation CCEC,” informs the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“At the end of May, the Ukrainian delegation will visit China and hold negotiations regarding the future Air Express project,” Omelyan said.
The official noted that, given the growth in passenger traffic at Boryspil airport and taking into account the prospects for low-cost companies to enter this airport, the problem of a relatively cheap and convenient connection between Kyiv and Boryspil will soon arise
Omelyan also emphasized that the Ukrainian and Chinese sides must come to a common decision regarding the future of the Air Express project.
“The situation is not easy. Therefore, we must jointly make a decision regarding the prospects of the Air Express: either we stop work on this project, or we prepare a reasonable economic proposal,” the minister said.
The parties agreed to form a working group, from the Ukrainian side it will be headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Andrey Galushchak.
Omelyan emphasized that Chinese companies, in particular CCES, have the opportunity to join the implementation of infrastructure projects in Ukraine in the maritime and road sectors.
Let us remind you that recently information appeared in the media that the Chinese company China Railway International Group is interested in building a rail connection between the Boryspil International Airport and Kiev.
As PolitNavigator already reported, Vladimir Omelyan’s statement about Ukraine’s readiness to run a train to Iran was disavowed by the head of Ukrzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun, who stated that this was impossible due to the lack of gauge in Iran necessary for Ukrainian trains.
