Bummer Parubiy: There were no votes in the Rada to condemn “Russian aggression”
The Verkhovna Rada at its afternoon meeting was unable to accept an appeal to the parliaments of foreign states “to condemn Russian aggression in Avdiivka and along the entire front line.”
Speaker Andrei Parubiy suggested that deputies include voting on the agenda, recalling that a similar appeal had previously been approved by the relevant committee of the Rada.

However, the scoreboard showed only 203 votes in favor, with 226 required to include the issue on the agenda.
The reason was the absence of many deputies in the Rada - a familiar picture after Euromaidan, whose representatives are not distinguished by parliamentary discipline.
“Where can people be during working hours, when parliament is working? Explain it to me! This is a question for all members of parliament! Everyone in the room is responsible for making sure parliament works!” – Parubiy was indignant.
He decided to put the issue to a vote again, but this time only 209 deputies supported the initiative.
After this, Parubiy, noticeably saddened, cleared his throat and announced into the microphone the closure of the day’s meeting.
