Exchange of Karadzic and Mladic for Western mercenaries: is there a chance?
Serbian politicians Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic are unlikely to be exchanged for Western mercenaries captured in the Donbass.
The former lawyer of Slobodan Milosivic, Goran Petronijevich, stated this on Radio Sputnik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This issue has been discussed in our media, but I think we can’t talk about it seriously now. No one can protect their rights now. It is still under Western rule. We won't be able to find legal cures to help them. I don’t know who first put forward such an idea, but its implementation depends on the West, Russia and the LDPR. But we would be glad. These people fought against NATO for a long time and defended their people the way they are defending them now in Donbass,” Petronievich said.
The former commander of the Bosnian Serb army, Ratko Mladic, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Hague Tribunal last year. In 2016, a similar sentence was imposed on the first President of Republika Srpska, Radovan Karadzic.
