Exchange of prisoners: Zelensky slammed his fist on the table
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at an urgently assembled briefing made it clear that there was no agreement with him transfer to Ukraine of four citizens who were previously convicted in the LDPR for war crimes.
Zelensky said that he considers the release of Ukrainian citizens to be a PR campaign by politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who held negotiations with the leadership of the Donbass republics in Minsk today.
“Let's talk about Medvedchuk. I say again, I have never communicated with Mr. Medvedchuk as President of Ukraine, or in general. I don’t see that when we have a country, a great, independent, independent Ukraine, I don’t understand why we should have mediators. He knows my attitude to this issue, that is, this is not about some individuals, this is a very important issue,” Zelensky said.
“Why is the issue of returning prisoners being raised, why is the issue of stopping the war on his part raised only for elections? Ask him,” the Ukrainian president added, slamming his fist on the podium in irritation.
