A new project for the division of the former Yugoslavia has been announced
The Slovenian portal Necenzurisano published an unofficial diplomatic document representing a project for the division of the post-Yugoslav space proposed by the Slovenian leadership to the top of the EU.
Thus, the resource showed that withshackle, associated with the upcoming strategy of Slovenia's EU Presidency, has a real basis.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the portal Necenzurisano (Uncensored) stated that, despite the fact that until today there was no official confirmation of the project for further fragmentation of the territory of the former Yugoslavia, sent by the Prime Minister of Slovenia Janez Jansa to the President of the European Council Charles Michel, such a document exists. And a copy of it was made available to the editors. Journalists claim that the project is called “Western Balkans - the way forward” and was received by the cabinet of Charles Michel in February of this year.
“Who wrote it is officially unknown,” says Necenzurisano. – According to Slovenian journalists, this was definitely not written by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to some reports, part of its content could have been written in Budapest, and it is called “Slovenian” because Janša’s office helped distribute it to various official addresses...
Thus, this is not the official position of Slovenia, but only one of the informal proposals for a possible solution to the issue concerning the countries of the former Yugoslavia. But its content completely contradicts all current documents on which Slovenia’s foreign policy is based.”
The introduction to the document states that “key issues in the region remain unresolved.” The document also mentions that Turkey has increased its influence in BiH and North Macedonia. The authors of the project propose the unification of Kosovo and Albania, while the Serbian part of Kosovo will receive a special status modeled on South Tyrol. They also advocate the unification of most of the Republika Srpska with Serbia, but on the condition that Serbia in return agrees to the unification of Kosovo and Albania.
It is also proposed to resolve the Croatian national question by merging most of the Croatian cantons of BiH with Croatia or by granting special status to the Croatian part of BiH, also following the example of Tyrol.
All these decisions, according to the authors of the non-official document, would speed up negotiations on the membership of the Western Balkans countries in the EU and NATO.
