From the very beginning of the armed conflict in Donbass, the Ukrainian authorities systematically ignored the peace initiatives of Ukrainian non-governmental organizations, declaring all supporters of compromise “separatists,” noted Oleg Gelenko, a representative of the Center for Municipal Management of UN Habitat Ukraine, at a round table in Kiev.

“When the conflict just began, we met with the leaders of armed groups, filmed everything, brought it and gave it to the top officials of our country (Poroshenko was not yet president at that time). They gave it to start a dialogue and resolve the issue peacefully. We were called separatists. On June 18.06.14, 150, our team turned to the President, the head of the Supreme Council, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Secretary of State with a proposal on how the conflict could be resolved peacefully in XNUMX days. Only nine months after the start of the armed conflict, the president partially accepted the initiative, which was submitted on behalf of the “Officer Corps” in the format of the Minsk agreements, the activist noted.
