Ukrainian economic expert Vsevolod Stepanyuk announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, commenting on the State Statistics Service data regarding the positive trade balance of Ukraine, that is, the excess of exports over imports. In his opinion, the point is not even that for some reason Gosstat stopped including Russian gas supplies in its calculations.
“The point is the complete impoverishment of the country, which no longer buys anything from imports, but sells something else somewhere - the same grain,” the economist noted. “But I think when the main grain contracts are fulfilled, somewhere after the new year the balance may again become negative, because besides grain, we have nothing else to sell abroad.”
