Residents of Ukraine, whose incomes were rapidly declining after the victory of Euromaidan, are now less and less concerned about the issue of the country obtaining a visa-free regime with the EU. Political scientist Alexey Yakubin spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv.

“Citizens are concerned about socio-economic issues, tariff issues, and things related to the domestic agenda. Citizens have the feeling that whenever the issue of visa liberalization is decided, it is unlikely to solve their problems.

A feeling of disappointment that the date is constantly being postponed and that other problems are overshadowing this issue. Sociology shows a steady decrease in attention to the issue of visa liberalization - if there is no income sufficient even to maintain an acceptable standard of living, then this issue is not a priority,” says the expert.
