This was stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, TASS reports.
“The Kommersant report about the alleged “actual destruction” of 7 Russian military aircraft at the Khmeimim airbase is a fake. The Russian air group in Syria is combat ready and continues to carry out all its intended tasks in full,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
At the same time, the defense department admitted that on December 31, 2017, with the onset of darkness, the Khmeimim airfield came under sudden mortar fire from a mobile sabotage group of militants, as a result of which two servicemen were killed.
At the same time, Kommersant claimed that during the shelling of the Khmeimim airbase, militants allegedly destroyed 7 aircraft and blew up an ammunition depot.
