The downside of the cherished visa-free regime: Ukraine will be fined 2 thousand euros for each escaped citizen
In the case of a visa-free regime with the EU, Ukraine will have to pay two thousand euros for each citizen who violates the rules and decides to stay in the EU for illegal work or permanent residence. The Georgian journalist, ex-speaker of the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine Bacho Korchilava stated this on the air of Channel 5.

According to him, this mechanism has already been adopted in Georgia, so Ukraine cannot escape it, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Every citizen who leaves is given a special booklet and the border guards inform him what the rules of his stay are. Secondly, if the border guard is Georgian, conditionally, and so it will be in Ukraine... the border guard, if he understands that the citizen has slightly different intentions to cross the border, he is given a special flag, which the other side sees upon arrival. And the European border guard, the policeman, treats him more attentively. In Georgia they have now adopted a law before visa-free travel, and I think that this law will also be adopted in Ukraine, that if a person violates and is deported, there is a fine of 2 thousand euros, the state immediately pays, but this person will then be obliged to return the fine, because he was warned in every possible way before that,” Korchilava said.
