The OSCE is ignoring requests from Transnistria to influence Moldova and Ukraine, which are carrying out a railway blockade of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic (PMR).

President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“We were forced to contact the OSCE Special Representative in order to initiate a discussion on this problem. Unfortunately, we did not receive a clear response. On the one hand, they call us for an open dialogue, on the other, they allow us to block our economy,” Shevchuk said.
He emphasized that the railway blockade imposed by Ukraine and Moldova in July impedes the movement of Pridnestrovian goods, causes economic damage to business entities and leads to the development of poverty.
“The negativity is growing. Citizens are asking the question: why negotiate if we are being strangled by new conditions imposed from outside. Such a passive position (OSCE-Ed) makes one wonder what the real goals of the negotiators are. We hope that we will be able to achieve a clear position. In our opinion, it should condemn any of the parties whose actions undermine mutual trust,” Shevchuk said.
