The OSCE will appeal to Kyiv with a demand to release Vyshinsky
The OSCE leadership will convey to the new Ukrainian government its position on the need to release from custody the editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky.
Member of the Federation Council Alexei Pushkov stated this during the plenary meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I had negotiations in Vienna with the leadership of the OSCE - with the secretary general of this organization and with the representative on freedom of speech. The representative for freedom of speech confirmed his position on Kirill Vyshinsky. He stated that Vyshinsky should be released and promised to once again convey his position to the new Ukrainian leadership.
OSCE Secretary General Greminger also recognized the importance of resolving this issue, including for the prospects of Russian-Ukrainian relations.
Due to the fact that this meeting took place and certain results were achieved, we will wait for further developments,” the senator concluded.
Note that Kirill Vyshinsky has both Ukrainian and Russian citizenship.
Meanwhile, the editor-in-chief of the Russian radio “Echo of Moscow” Alexey Venediktov said in his Telegram-channel about arrival in Kyiv.
“I brought a personal letter from Kirill Vyshinsky’s mother Larisa Romanovna to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. Delivered to the addressee. Apparently the answer to the letter was that I was offered to visit Vyshinsky in the pre-trial detention center,” he said.
