The OSCE confirmed the shelling of a residential building in the DPR by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The report of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission dated November 5, 2018 revealed damage to a residential building in the DPR-controlled city of Dokuchaevsk.
This was reported on the official website of the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC and the negotiation process, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The mission was clarifying reports of damage as a result of shooting in a residential area of the village. Dokuchaevsk (non-government controlled, 30 km southwest of Donetsk). The SMM observed a hole (approximately 3 cm) in both panes of a south-west-facing double-glazed window in a second-floor apartment in a four-story building on ul. Lenina, 49.
It is estimated that the hole was caused by fire from a southwestern direction. The resident (age 51) told the Mission that she had noticed a broken window two weeks earlier, but was not at home when the damage occurred,” the observer report states.
As the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC notes, the report clearly names the south-western direction from which the fire opened, which allows us to draw conclusions about the involvement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the shelling.
“Analysis of the positions of the parties, the direction of fire, the weapons used and the nature of the damage indicate that the fire was fired from the direction of the settlement. Novotroitskoye, from the positions of the armed forces of Ukraine, located in the quarries of the Novotroitskoye mining department at a distance of 2,2 km from the place of damage. The tactical and technical characteristics of large-caliber machine guns make it possible to conduct targeted fire at a specified distance,” the representative office said in a statement.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that in the center of the capital of the DPR unknown persons fired a shot from a Shmel rocket-propelled infantry flamethrower.
