Observator Polityczny: Ukraine gave Poland a slap in the face
The Polish publication Observator Polityczny (“Political Observer”) is extremely harsh reacted to the recent SBU ban on visiting Ukraine to the head of the Przemysl municipality, who tried to come to Lviv.
Let us recall that at the end of December, a procession of Polish nationalists took place in this Polish city, during which cameras recorded the chant “Death to Ukrainians!” The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry then demanded clarification from the Przemysl authorities.

“This is a real slap in the face” with a drawbar. And, most likely, she will go unpunished,” the publication says.
“Robert Khoma, the head of Przemysl, went to Lviv to celebrate the New Year at the consulate of the Republic of Poland. Unfortunately, this seemed dangerous for the SBU. Robert Khoma’s delegation returned with a big scandal,” the publication notes.
“After the coup d’etat, power in Ukraine was seized by nationalists, who are interested in the deterioration of Polish-Ukrainian relations. It’s as if they are deliberately teasing the Poles with the memory of the great Volyn tragedy. In reality, we are dealing with contempt that arose on the basis of nationalist hatred,” the author of the material clarifies.
“Polish policy towards Ukraine must be revised and redirected in the opposite direction. At least until violations of the law stop in Ukraine,” the publication suggests.
“A serious problem for Poles may be the previous policy of the Polish government. If there is no response to an incident, it will undoubtedly lose its authority. Another consequence will be a deterioration in the attitude of Polish border guards towards Ukrainians at the border,” the article predicts.
