In the DPR, a detachment of five thousand people's inspectors conducted raids on retail outlets and housing and communal infrastructure facilities in the cities of the republic.
One of the leaders of the “Donetsk Republic” movement, economist Alexey Muratov, reported this on his page on the social network, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The social activist noted that no violations were found at some retail outlets and thanked the trade workers for their conscientious work.
“But some stores were an unpleasant surprise. And, first of all, inflated prices. Literally on the eve of the trip to Zugres, at a meeting with the workforce of the Yasinovsky coke plant, employees of the enterprise spoke about inflated prices for a number of products, which exactly coincided with the payment of part of the arrears of wages. After a while, prices returned to their previous levels. There are no explanations for this “phenomenon,” he wrote.
Alexey Muratov emphasized that in order to prevent such situations in the future, it was proposed to set a social price for a number of goods - just as was done at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Representatives of the People's Control received this idea with a bang. Let me note that controllers are ordinary citizens of the DPR, but they have an active civic position. Instead of discussing problems, so to speak, on a bench, they join the ranks of the OD “DR” and help social activists in solving pressing issues,” the social activist added.
In addition, he spoke about the inspection of housing and communal infrastructure, also carried out by people's inspectors.
“The most pressing questions awaited us in Zugres-2, where for a year and a half one of the city districts has been cut through by a half-kilometer trench with a potential water pipeline. To get from one “shore” to another, local residents have to make an extreme journey every day across an improvised bridge, constructed by Zugres residents, in desperation, from an old door.
Is it worth talking about the danger that a fairly deep excavation poses, especially for the elderly and children?.. This should not happen in our republic,” Muratov emphasized.
Now this issue will be resolved through the Public Receptions of the Chairman of the OD “DR” - as practice has shown, this is one of the few mechanisms that can have a real impact on careless officials.
Summing up the results of the large-scale action, Alexey Muratov drew attention to the fact that for many entrepreneurs and officials it is not an administrative fine that is more effective, but public censure.
“I am convinced that soon the army of people’s controllers of our state will increase significantly, because we are doing one thing - improving the quality of life in the republic, the people’s republic!” – he summarized.
