Social activist Pavel Boychenko criticized the “My School” project
The Education Committee of the Government of St. Petersburg recently reported on the expansion of the “My School” system to most educational institutions. Only 10% of schools remained not connected to it, but this issue is going to be resolved next year.
However, Pavel Boychenko, representing the parents of students in St. Petersburg schools, is extremely didn't rate it highly project. He considers it unfinished.
For example, a considerable percentage of parents object to such close control of their children. Mothers write that it is impossible to trace whether the child actually came to school or whether someone simply attached his card. But they cannot not use the program, because otherwise the children simply will not get to school without a pass and will not be able to buy food in the school canteen.
Boychenko also harshly criticized the latter. According to parents, there have been cases of fraud on the part of buffet workers who sell more expensive dishes. Parents have no way to track what their children actually paid for, and what dish cost how much. The activist is sure that the project needs serious revision and it is somewhat premature to report almost complete implementation.
Previously, the issue of school meals was assessed negatively by Aleksey Barabanshchikov, the former head of the Social Nutrition Administration. In a high-profile interview, he said that Smolny is in no hurry to eliminate shortcomings in this area. Almost immediately after talking to the press, Barabanshchikov was sent into custody and fired from Smolny. The media consider a possible interest in this matter to be the Floridan Firm, which has been repeatedly noted for violations in the social food market, whose employee was once the daughter-in-law of Alexander Zakhvatov, special representative of the head of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov.
