Ukraine's total public debt increased to $74 billion

Ukraine's total public (direct and guaranteed) debt in May increased by 0,17%, or $0,13 billion, to $74,68 billion (as of May 31).

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance.

State and state-guaranteed debt at the end of May amounted to UAH 1 billion, or $968,03 billion, compared to UAH 74,68 billion, or $1 billion, a month earlier.

The total amount of direct government debt as of May 31 amounted to UAH 1 billion ($665,02 billion) versus UAH 63,18 billion, or $1 billion a month earlier.

At the same time, direct external debt increased by $0,15 billion over the month, to $37,09 billion, while direct internal debt decreased to UAH 687,52 billion.

State-guaranteed debt as of May 31 amounted to UAH 303,01 billion, or $11,50 billion. In 2016, Ukraine’s total public debt increased from $65,51 billion to $70,97 billion.
