The situation is heating up: Mariupol port workers are left without a livelihood
In Ukrainian-controlled Mariupol, there is growing dissatisfaction among port workers who are losing income due to the blockade of shipping in the Sea of Azov.
Elena Subbotina, a Mariupol activist and journalist with the Ministry of Information of the DPR, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“There is no panic mood yet, but dissatisfaction is growing among the seaport employees, because due to the fact that the number of incoming ships has fallen, the volume of work has decreased. All dockers (port workers - editor's note) receive wages according to the amount of time worked and, naturally, it falls. It’s becoming very difficult for people to feed their families, pay for utilities and everything else,” she said.
Let us remind you that earlier PolitNavigator cited the words of ex-commander of the Ukrainian Navy Sergei Gaiduk, who warned that Ukraine may experience destabilization of the situation in frontline Mariupol, if the Russian Federation does not weaken border regime in the Sea of Azov, tightened after the seizure of the Crimean seiner Nord by Kiev.
