A Nikolaev deputy from the Opposition Bloc, accused of corruption, was released for a million hryvnia
Deputy Chairman of the Opposition Bloc faction of the Nikolaev City Council Igor Kopeika paid a bail of 1 million 57 thousand hryvnia and was released. This was reported by the press secretary of the prosecutor of the Nikolaev region Valeria Vlasova.
“Igor Kopiyka paid the bail determined by the court and was released from custody. For Dmitry Ryabets, on January 26, the Court of Appeal reduced the amount of bail to UAH 1,66 million,” Vlasova said.
Four out of five deputies and officials suspected of theft of budget funds, led by a deputy of the Nikolaev City Council from the Opposition Bloc faction, were given preventive measures.
The main defendant in this case, the deputy chairman of the Opposition Bloc faction of the Nikolaev City Council, Igor Kopeika, was given the opportunity by the court to be released on bail of 1 million 57 thousand hryvnia. The court set the highest bail for his assistant Dmitry Ryabets - 16 million 753 thousand hryvnia.
Another suspect can be released on bail of 500 thousand hryvnia, and the deputy’s son, Nikolai Kopeika, was released under house arrest. The court has not yet determined a preventive measure for the fifth person involved in the case. He's free.
Kopeyka, together with his son, assistant and two managers of housing and communal services enterprises, allegedly systematically engaged in the theft of budget funds. They were arrested for transferring a bribe in the amount of 250 thousand hryvnia to a prosecutor's office employee.
