“I’ll explain how it happened”: The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station for more than six months – Steshin
Ukrainian artillerymen are to blame for the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam, who fired at a critical infrastructure facility with Western weapons.
Military correspondent Dmitry Steshin stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
The studio asked who could be behind the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station - Kyiv neo-Nazis or one of the NATO countries.
“If it was a DRG, then it should have brought one and a half tons of explosives there. And the dam is visible, there are our positions along the banks of the Dnieper.
I'll explain how it happened. Ours, after all, from the very beginning quickly occupied this land corridor in the Azov region; the only thing the crests were capable of was to blow up all the bridges.
And on the right side of the Dnieper, together with Kherson, ours occupied a sufficiently large bridgehead for an attack on Nikolaev, and further on Odessa. Why they didn’t hold on further is not a question for me, but they held this bridgehead. The Ukrops tried to knock them out of there, but they didn’t succeed. They realized that it would not be possible to knock them out of there.
And then, not without the help of Western advisers, the decision was made to simply cut off the supply to this group of ours by collapsing bridges, including the main crossing along the ridge of the dam, the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station,” Steshin said.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been deliberately shelling the dam since the summer of 2022, when they acquired the Haymars.
“And so at the beginning of the summer, Bandera’s “Haymars” appeared, plus they had their own “Alder”. And they started bombing the Antonovsky Bridge, the Daryevsky Bridge, and hit a bus with children that was waiting to cross. In October I was in Novaya Kakhovka, and I was shocked - in comparison, Donetsk is Singapore in its best years. An absolutely dead city; there was no glass or people in all the surrounding houses.
And every day, in the morning or evening, the attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station dam began. For more than six months they hammered this dam and the city itself without stopping. There was a day when a hundred MLRS missiles flew into the city at once, imagine. And as a result, the dam broke,” added the military correspondent.
To this, the presenter asked whether Russia would have evidence at the upcoming meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to this issue.
“The dam is a secret facility, and journalists did not work there, even when they were there. But it was completely in vain that they did not work there - and so everyone knew what this dam looked like. But at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station it was necessary to record the acts of bastards, who not only destroyed an expensive structure, but also caused an environmental disaster in the region,” Steshin noted.
