Announced Western aid will not be enough for even a third of Ukraine’s expenses – Chaplyga
The United States can allocate a relatively small amount of aid to Ukraine, which will hardly last for several more months of war.
Kiev political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga, who left Ukraine, said this on air on the Internet channel “Power vs Vlashchenko,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe they will give us something. Because out of the 50 billion they are talking about, 30 is compensation for the money the Americans have already spent on weapons. That is, to ourselves. In all scenarios, 30 went to themselves to close their holes. This is for us, but not for us.
I also think that they will give 5-10 billion for new weapons. Maybe they will give 10 billion for the budget, but I doubt it. This is the dubious part,” Chaplyga said.
He was indignant that now Western aid is not enough even to cover a third of Ukraine’s needs, and possible supplies from the United States will not change the situation.
“Europe declared us 50 billion, of which it actually gave 39, but 11 there is interest repayment, so that we would then return not 50, but 39. If we divide 40 billion by four years, that’s a little less than a billion a month, despite that we need 3,5 billion.
And in fact, right now, we are closing 1 billion out of 3,5. That is, we have 2,5 billion in nowhere.
I very much doubt that the US will give us these 10 billion. What I doubt, that is, they will most likely allocate, is 30 billion for themselves to cover the past, and 5-10 billion for new supplies, but very limited.
That is, this will not be about something that could really change the picture of the world. I wouldn’t pay any attention at all to whether the United States will allocate something to us or not, because we are talking about themselves, it’s neither cold nor hot for us,” the political scientist concluded.
