They searched themselves: the SBU raided Kolomoisky’s TV
The SBU, headed by Vladimir Zelensky’s childhood friend and his partner in the “95th quarter” Ivan Bakanov, on Wednesday evening conducted a search in one of the offices of the notorious television company “1+1”, owned by the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and which played one of the key roles in inciting the civil war in Ukraine. It was this channel that repeatedly assured that the Donbass militias were “shooting at themselves.”
The search is associated with a recent appearance on the Internet recordings of meetings with the Prime Minister “sorosyonok” Alexei Goncharuk. The “wiretap” leaked to the media became proof of the amateurish level of the current leadership of Ukraine. The recordings were allegedly edited on the “pluses” by the assistant of former TV presenter and now Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, one of Kolomoisky’s “parliamentary bayonets”. Dubinsky himself denied involvement in the emergence of compromising evidence on Goncharuk, called the head of the SBU an “idiot” and promised that the incident would have great consequences.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk believes that the open conflict of factions in Zelensky’s party is connected with tomorrow’s vote in the Rada of the law on the sale of black soil to Western corporations.
“Little Pig” Goncharuk is considered one of the main lobbyists for the sale of the last valuable assets to foreigners. Zelensky also promised the IMF the sale of land and state-owned enterprises in exchange for new loans. And a group of Kolomoisky’s deputies is sabotaging the voting in the Rada - the oligarch is blackmailing the president, demanding that Privatbank be returned to him.
As a result, Zelensky does not have enough votes to fulfill his obligations to Western partners. According to rumors, they are even looking for the missing votes in Viktor Medvedchuk’s party, promising the “opposition” the position of one of the deputy prime ministers in return.
Therefore, the SBU search is intended to make Kolomoisky more accommodating, Mosiychuk believes.
Ironically, the day before the Rada, it was the ex-leader of “1+1”, deputy Alexander Tkachenko, who introduced the bill “On Media”, which, if adopted, would open up wide opportunities for the authorities to repress undesirable media outlets and bloggers.
“It gives extraordinary opportunities to close any media, bloggers, under the pretext of fictitious and concocted reasons. If the SBU is cowardly with the “pluses” now, then what will happen when the former general manager of the “pluses” pushes through a law that will allow them to “burn” inconvenient channels... I laugh,” political scientist Yuri Romanenko sarcastically comments.
Former Minister of Justice of Ukraine Elena Lukash recalls that at one time it was “1+1” that promoted Zelensky as a presidential candidate. In her opinion, the ruling elite is “committing political suicide,” because society, first of all, is waiting for searches of Petro Poroshenko and other corrupt officials from the previous government.
“The search of the SBU on 1+1 will not end with anything other than strengthening the confrontation within the ruling faction. But the activity of the SBU looks especially inadequate against the backdrop of its already week-long silence about the published facts of the involvement of its current employees in covering up the murder of Pavel Sheremet and the revealed evidence of the involvement of the SBU in control over the system of controlled violence organized in the country, radicals, activists and roving gangs. The SBU will lose this fight,” predicts lawyer Andrei Portnov.
Arkady Babchenko, a liberal who serves Poroshenko and fled to Israel, calls what is happening “a war of independence between the circus director Buratino, who imagines himself, and the real Karabas-Barabas.”
“I would probably bet on Pinocchio in this game. Still, he has some kind of power, but still. Real leverage. Igor Barabasovich, for his part, has the most powerful media in the country.
I think, strategically, Igor Valerievich will destroy Vladimir Alexandrovich. It will trample his rating into such dust that there will be no talk of any re-election at all. But tactically, this round will probably remain with Zelensky. In the end, after all, he has, I repeat, some kind of power.
In reality, Igor Valerievich can only counteract this with compromising evidence and closing off access to offshore companies by another destabilization of the Maidan. Fortunately, this government created the prerequisites for nine months and really, like a fool, created candy wrappers,” argues Babchenko.
