We really need vaccines! "Politnavigator" continues its campaign to help the Donetsk animal shelter
Not only people, but also animals – our little brothers – are suffering from the ongoing war in Donbass. It’s good that there are people who, under these conditions, continue to save animals that have lost their homes and owners. These are the people who work at the Donetsk shelter “Pif”. Let us remind you that the editors and readers of Politnavigator are holding a book promotion to help the residents of this shelter.
After the first publication, the editors began to receive messages from people who, from this news, learned about the existence of a shelter in warring Donetsk and decided to provide all possible assistance. The shelter is grateful to everyone who responded.
As part of the “Politnavigator” campaign, in particular, talks regularly about Pifa news. And there is news here every day.
The shelter staff happily announces: “Our dear bald little Richard arrived in St. Petersburg today! I have already visited the clinic, where I stayed overnight. Today they will take all the tests and studies from him. He’s not in the best shape, but they quickly bring such people to their senses!..” Richard went through a difficult journey, and many people helped him along the way. People are different, but there is one thing that unites them - they all have responsive hearts.
“Many thanks to everyone who helped pay for our journey! We have collected the required amount! Only thanks to YOU! – says a message on the Pifa page on the social network. “Many thanks to our dear Svetlana for the Donetsk-Rostov route. It was she who took the bald man to Nastya, to whom we also owe a huge thank you! Girls, you made his journey possible! Nastya and her family sheltered Richard for the day so that he could sleep, relax and continue his journey with new strength!”
All this does not mean that mutual fund members have less worries. Recently they gave in a cat, which immediately gave birth - and the staff of “Pifa”, of course, are now caring for both the mother cat and the kittens.
Meanwhile, back in 2015, the shelter ran out of funding, which provided free veterinary care to homeless animals. “Since then, we have continued to do good on our own by asking for funds online. In 2017 alone, 295 dogs were hospitalized for the entire year! And another 1254 homeless ponytails received recommendations and assistance during a visit to the veterinary clinic,” Pif reported. – But there is only one problem – very high prices for medicines, which do not allow us to purchase what we need in full. Very often we have to buy on credit or with our last money.”
The shelter suggests how you can help:
Regular pharmacy:
– Bicilin
– Ceftriaxone
– Sterile and examination gloves (small sizes)

By the way, in Donetsk we are collecting help for the Pif shelter held by Futura Cinema. You can leave a gift for the shelter's ponytails at the cinema cashier (address: Artyoma St., 130, Donetsk City, 4th floor).
Rђ RІRѕS, today's message, which makes sense to quote in full: “Friends...Today we remind you about the great catastrophe of the shelter! VACCINES ARE REALLY NEEDED! Without vaccines, not a single animal can survive in such a crowd of dogs! (administrator's note: We respect those who oppose vaccination, but we ask you to be loyal to our position). Enteritis virus lives up to 6 months. The plague virus lives up to 5 years. Leptospirosis. Adenovirus. Parainfluenza. There is no desire to continue... Weak and exhausted animals, animals under stress, young animals are most at risk. Namely, they come to us.
We vaccinate every dog that comes to us twice, with an interval of 21 days. Total - 350 rubles, multiplied by two... 700 rubles for the life of one dog! Alone! Over the last month alone, we have adopted 20 dogs into our family, and this is on condition that we try to explain that there is neither space nor money to keep them. The situation is becoming critical. Everyone needs to be vaccinated, but where to get them, the money? The vaccine doesn’t fall from the sky, and neither does the money. How to feed 800 animals, treat them, vaccinate them and provide decent conditions? It’s very difficult... We will be immensely grateful for any help. Always your mutual fund members...”
“Pif” reminds us that maintaining the shelter’s 800 dogs (and, as you know, there are also cats!) constantly requires finances, cereals, and medicines. Any amount, no matter how small, will not be superfluous there. Let's help the whole world!
