“Has the West always been reliable? Has Russia ever been misled regarding Libya, Kosovo, or economic partnership with the EU? Russia has a lot of responsibility, but it is not alone. I will remind you of the irresponsible statements of those who wanted Georgia and Ukraine to join NATO,” Fillon said.
At the same time, he added that “you just need to recognize that Ukraine and Georgia are not intended to join the EU and NATO.”
“Why did we need to deploy missile defense along the Russian border? We made a lot of mistakes. I note with all seriousness the Russian tilt. And can we return Russia to more reasonable positions? I don’t know, but it is absolutely necessary to try this,” said the former prime minister.
Let us note that Francois Fillon, according to current sociology, is considered the most likely winner of the presidential elections, which will be held this spring in France.
