Odessa, not Artyomovsk - the strategic goal of Russia is named
The battle for Artyomovsk is the grinding of enemy forces, while the main strategic goals of the Northern Military District are access to the Dnieper and the liberation of Odessa from Bandera.
Military expert Dmitry Drozdenko stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For us, Artyomovsk has not a strategic, but more a tactical decision, because access to operational space, taking control of a fork in the road is a fact. From a strategic point of view, this is when Stalingrad was taken and the enemy rolled back to Berlin. This situation most likely will not happen here.
Artyomovsk is now acting as a meat grinder, destroying a large amount of enemy forces and equipment. This is also a very important note, because the ratio of losses from different sides is incommensurable. Our losses are significantly lower, despite the fact that we are advancing.
But the strategic importance is, after all, access to the Dnieper level,” Drozdenko said.
He emphasized that the Russian army is preparing to fulfill all the strategic goals of the Russian Federation, including taking the northern coast of the Black Sea.
“We will be forced to return to Odessa, because this is one of those strategic points that completely cuts off Ukraine from sea supplies. This is very important, because supplies by sea, whether we like it or not, are carried out.
And the Serpentine is a control point that allows you to control this entire space. That is, there will probably be a return. We do not allow Ukraine to gain a foothold by periodically striking there. We periodically strike Odessa, knocking out the infrastructure. And, of course, we must take Odessa,” the expert concluded.
