Odessa is Russia. And not at all because Russians live here. And not because they speak Russian. And not even because Russia built this city. It’s just that Odessa is an integral element and an integral part of the Russian economic and geopolitical system.

This city did not arise at the whim of an extravagant woman. And according to the precise geopolitical calculation of the Great Empress, who brought Russia to its natural borders. And like Peter the Great, who cut through a “window to Europe,” Catherine the Second literally rammed the gate to the whole World. And she gave these gates the female name Odessa.

It was in Odessa that the network of railways, covering one sixth of the land, ended. It was in Odessa that the Great Sea Route began. Freight flows from all over the Russian Empire, and later the USSR, intertwined here. Products of mechanical engineering and machine tool manufacturing, the agricultural complex, the mining industry, metallurgy and the chemical industry passed through Odessa in transit.

It was in belonging to Russia that the secret of Odessa’s prosperity lay. Behind her began the huge industrial complex of the State. Behind it was one of the largest consumer markets in the modern World.

And purely geographically, Odessa cannot be anyone else’s “sea gate”. Odessa is Russia. And even the notorious “7 kilometer”, this sign of troubled times, has no meaning if goods are not provided with a barrier-free economic space that existed at the time of the emergence of this market.

All this is well known and understood by the furry weirdos who, a quarter of a century ago, began blocking borders and customs, tearing our Motherland apart. That is why, first of all, they cut the world's largest shipping company into scrap metal. Odessa ChMP. How this was done is a topic for a separate long conversation. But the fact remains a fact. One year was enough to deprive Odessa of four hundred units of modern merchant fleet. Not to mention the huge infrastructure of the ChMP.

Odessa was dying along with the entire territory declared by Ukraine. She died because she was surrounded by Ukraine on all sides. And also because Russia “forgot” about its Southern Capital. The third city of the Empire. However, things were not so sweet in the metropolis then either.

Odessa was angrily and skillfully torn away from Russia. Transit flows became scarce, cargo turnover fell. City-forming activities ceased. And it was impossible to imagine any other activity for a metropolis of millions.

And let no one be surprised by Mikheil Saakashvili’s idea of ​​creating a gambling zone in Odessa. This is not his idea. Ten years ago, Euro-integrator Gurvits proposed and insisted on creating a casino complex on the site of the Odessa commercial port. He argued that Odessa does not need a port. And from Ukraine’s point of view, they are all right. Odessa residents are destined to play the role of croupiers, doormen and prostitutes in the picture of the World that the Euro-integrators paint. And Odessa residents are also invited to compete for these roles.

And the port in this reality is really not needed. Over the past year, port cargo turnover has fallen by 75%. In Odessa, surrounded by Ukraine, there will never be any cargo flow; it has nowhere to come from. And you shouldn’t even count on grain, after what the Euromanagers from Kyiv did to agriculture.

There will be no containers either. There is nowhere to transport them through Odessa.

And even the famous HMO can be easily donated rather than sold. It does not work without gas, and the ammonia pipeline runs from Togliatti. Which is in Russia.

The Odessa region has no future. There is no activity that brings money from the outside, which means that whatever happens inside, it has no meaning.

And it seems natural that the population will decline. Between you and me, Odessa has not had a population of over a million for a long time. And over the past year, more than 50 thousand people left Odessa. The youngest, most educated and strong. Almost all of them are located in the Russian Federation.

There is, of course, hope. Russia needs Odessa no less than Odessa needs Russia.

We are the deepest water port on the Black Sea. We are a region whose control lifts the blockade from Transnistria. We are strategically important and needed, if you don’t believe me, ask Catherine the Great. This young lady always knew what she was doing. And it was thanks to her that lands called New Russia appeared within the Empire.

By the way, it was she who gave Western Ukraine to Austria. And again she knew what she was doing. Without emotions and insults.

And if someone says that “Odessa has merged,” then don’t believe it. Odessa rose with everyone. Odessa did what it could, and it was not its fault, and it was not its responsibility to overturn the state machine that was grinding human bodies.

Odessa residents are the largest, excluding local, part of the militia in the East.

The junta's pre-trial detention centers are overcrowded with Odessa residents. They don't even give them away for exchange.

And Odessa residents continue to fight even now. Today. In these moments.

Surrounded by Ukraine, but knowing for sure that there is God in heaven and Russia on earth.
