Odessa has not yet said its weighty word: With hope for 2017
Young man, are you interested in how our city sees off the passing year and prepares to meet the coming one? – And I’ll tell you, despite the fact that every direct word today can be expensive. But when and who managed to silence Odessa?
We survived occupiers of all stripes, and no one could erase the eternal spirit of freedom from us. It was not they who founded this city and gave it the sacred right to be itself under any authority. It is not for them to teach us how to live.
A professional joker once said: “Odessa is not really a city, it’s the smile of God.” And for these real words, many sins and weaknesses will be forgiven him...
Yes, despite all the attempts of the “Europeanizers,” we remain true Europeans, just as under Mother Catherine and the great Duke and Vorontsov, who founded and opened the sea gates of the empire to Europe and the world. And they are wretched farmers who are only capable of destroying and desecrating everything they touch. And no one needs them anymore, either in the country or abroad, because their patrons are rapidly losing ground under their feet.
God's Laughter on the World
This year was terrible, and the number of victims was enormous. But once again we understand: when God wants to punish someone, he deprives him of his reason, and others come to replace him. The collapse of the US policy, which released the genie of Islamic extremism, and at the same time fed our thieving and vile “revolutionaries”, would be ridiculous if not for the catastrophic consequences. And, as always, Russia comes to where blood is shed and global evil threatens the whole world. It does not divide people by blood and faith, but once again proves: good power always wins, for justice is stronger than lies. And America itself makes a choice that says one thing: its people are tired of feeding parasites and moral monsters - both at home and abroad. Pragmatism and good old traditions triumph, and reasonable people will always find a common language...
And what will the Muslim madmen and our eternal slaves, powerless without their patrons, be left with?! They will not see the notorious “visa-free travel” with which they have been fooling their fellow citizens for many years now. Europe, faced with a violent and wild flow of refugees from a stirred up hornet’s nest in the East, does not at all want to add to it a multimillion-strong horde of Ukrainian feral and no less aggressive aborigines. And the very fate of the EU as a whole raises serious doubts. They have no time for our problems, they should deal with their own...
And having lost hope of outside support, maddened by impotent anger, the leaders of the junta in their irrepressible anger squabble among themselves and with stupid peasant greed, strive to steal the last of the people's goods into their holes. It’s as if they’re not what they’re talking about in Odessa: – there are no pockets on the shroud!
Feasts during the yellow-blakit plague
What happened during the 25 years of independence was very reminiscent of some kind of bacchanalia of narrow-minded farmers who seized power. With their natural Kurkul greed, they slaughtered the chicken that laid golden eggs from its clever owner.
And if before the “revolution of dignity” they were “sawing up” what could still bring profit to the country and provide work and bread for the people, then in recent years, sawing up has acquired a direct meaning. The Kharkov Tractor Plant is being cut for scrap. Zaporozhye Automobile has closed. Literally before the New Year, they announced the stop and actual closure of the Priportovy plant in Yuzhny near Odessa. 4 thousand people are left without work, and a recently thriving town is losing the meaning and source of its existence... And so - everywhere!
Well-fed “experts” can tell us about “economic growth,” but we, receiving monstrous bills for housing and communal services and daily seeing the galloping rise in prices and the fall of the hryvnia, understand: never has the government been so indifferent to its people, and never has it robbed them so brazenly.
And they... they throw pre-New Year feasts, at which even the “presidential army” beat each other on their faces, swollen from drunkenness and gluttony. And - they are organizing the next “victorious offensive” against the unbroken Republics of Donbass, trying to divert attention from the next scam - the “nationalization” of Privatbank.
And it doesn’t matter to us whether Kolomoisky, the breadwinner and instigator of neo-Nazis who suddenly became disgraced, received his Judas’ share of the loot. The important thing is that both the brutal punishers and their unbending opponents, who defend their families, homes and the right to remain free people, pay for this in blood.
When will Odessa laugh?!
I believe this day will come soon. And the fact that there is still complete darkness over the City of our ancestors only means that the dawn and liberation from the occupiers is near.
Yes, while they are creating chaos. They stealthily steal flowers and candles brought by Odessa residents to the Russian consulate, mourning along with the whole world of decent people for the victims of the TU-154 disaster. And my fellow countrymen again pay tribute to the memory, and joke bitterly: “I bet they are selling stolen goods somewhere near the cemetery, wretched ones!”
Then the “activists” arbitrarily tear down signs with the glorious name of Marshal of Victory Zhukov on the avenue named after him, replacing them with the “heavenly hundred”. The one who was shot in the back by their own accomplices.
But Odessa does not resign itself, despite all the pressure and lawlessness, refusing to recognize the blasphemous and lawless renaming. And he recalls with sarcasm how, under the German-Romanian occupiers, the shameful names of Hitler and Antonescu were displayed on the main streets of the city. And where are those names alien to the spirit and history, not to mention the invaders themselves and their hangers-on?!
They pompously erect some kind of pagan “didukh” in the very center of the city, a bunch of sheaves, symbolizing Christmas in their wild mountains and meadows. And we laugh at the newcomers, and we will celebrate both the New Year and the Nativity of Christ with Santa Claus and according to the age-old Orthodox, Russian traditions, ignoring the fact that they are trying to ban them as a “communist heritage”, replacing them with Western customs...
No one will break the spirit of our City, despite the unprecedented aggression of the insolent invaders and the corruption of the local authorities, tearing in their greed the last crumbs of the former heritage of Odessa. Their time is running out, and Odessa hopes to celebrate the next New Year in a new capacity.
As an equal city in the country, where a federal structure will give it a legal and equal place under the generous sun of our fertile land, which remembers its history and is proud of it. The edges where we still laugh through our tears.
But he who laughs last laughs best! And tears are the least of what awaits the occupiers and rapists.
Happy New Year, friends! Odessa has not yet spoken her weighty word, but she has done this more than once. And then we will laugh together. Just like the good old days!
