Odessa: There is no such thing as fascism-light
When I encounter situations like this, which will be discussed below, I don’t even think about the rot of the nationalists - everything is clear with them. I think about those who don't care. Those who are ostentatiously not interested in politics and do not notice what is happening. After all, it was with their tacit consent that the so-called fascism-lite. Only there is no such thing as fascism-light, and in order to hammer this axiom into worthless heads, sometimes in my imagination I put them together, close them in the cinema and show “Cabaret”, “Amarcord”, “Life is Beautiful” for days... Because it’s the same , but right under their noses, these indifferent creatures do not notice.
For example, the fact that nationalists were planning to burn down a Jewish restaurant in Odessa. In any civilized country, this game would immediately result in an international scandal, however, as we know, uncivilized Ukraine is built around Odessa.
It all started with an ironic announcement on the page of the culinary restaurant “Artel at Mashkovichi” on Facebook. The culinary specialists posted an international post in which they informed that a famous chef from Georgia had come to work in an artel and prepare real Georgian dishes. And since the publication coincided with the day the next norm of the “language law” came into force, according to which the entire service sector is obliged to switch to Ukrainian, the text was written in the state language, but in Russian letters.
The post, as they say now, instantly went viral - people appreciated the irony in the form of “Shalom, love friends”, and “Forever yours, “Artel at the Mashkovichs”, and the text written below in Hebrew, and most importantly - that everyone understood everything... Until they came to the comments - the masters of the world, the idiot fascists.
One of the first to make threats was a nationalist, former right-wing activist and provocateur Sergei Sternenko, who is now on trial for murder (and his friend and like-minded person Dmitry Kruzhilin is wanted on suspicion of murder). “We’ll see how you work after the lockdown, mockery of the language will not work out so easily for you, I had such a dream,” wrote the “oracle” Sternenko.
Joined the threats criminal from the National Corps Demyan Ganul: “My friends and I will soon marry many quilted jackets and give them a Ukrainian primer.” True, everyone in Odessa knows that “daruvati bukvar” Ganul usually carries a weapon.
Also took part in the persecution half-forgotten Maidanovka Zoya Kazanzhi: immediately after the tragedy of May 2, when Odessa residents blocked the entrance to the burned House of Trade Unions with flowers and lamps, it was she who led the crowd of nationalists to destroy the place of death. This is what this “worthy woman” wrote about the Mashkovichs: “These are ordinary cotton-wool boys. There was already a scandal with their derogatory attitude towards Ukrainians. So it's better that they have problems. That would be fair." Well, then a whole crowd of brutalized Nazis arrived: they promised to set the artel on fire, accompanied the threats with photographs of the fascists and the inscriptions “movie patrol.” Predictably, there were also those who reported the complaint already sent to the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language...
After such a reaction from the Neanderthals, another post appeared on the artel’s page, unfunny, because the Ukrainian public is designed to destroy the positive.
“Shalom, love your friends. One of our founders is a citizen of Israel, we conduct our business in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, all markings are in the state language, all products are certified and have passed the State Standard, all taxes go to the treasury of Ukraine! In addition, we provide charitable assistance, to the extent possible... We published an advertisement in accordance with the new language law, but... We will write an appeal to the Israeli Embassy and the SBU. Nationalists openly threaten us with arson, pitchforks, etc.”
Also, the owner of the establishment, Irina Mashkovich, explained that the restaurant employees “are afraid for the children,” that “they sent a lot of Nazi photos from the Second World War,” and threats of physical violence continue to come.
Should we be afraid of everything that the degenerates promised the Mashkoviches? Let's think about it.
Have they already burned people en masse? Yes.
Did they kill people one by one? Yes.
Did they persecute people for their beliefs? Yes.
Did they write denunciations to the SBU that sent people to prison? Yes.
Are they armed? Yes.
Are they - some indirectly, some directly - connected with the authorities? Yes.
So I would like to hope that the Israeli Embassy will still sort out this situation - well, not the Gestapo, sorry SBU, will protect businessmen.
I can really imagine what the Israeli embassy will think: “Oh, hey, is it the Russian Jew Vova Zelensky who allows this?..”
Allows and welcomes. Because he is also a vivid example of the indifferent people with whom I began the article - a narrow-minded creature.
