As a Navigator correspondent reports, the protesters demanded the dismissal of police chief Ivan Katerynchuk instead of the police officers, who, in their opinion, were fulfilling their duty to maintain order. The protesters held posters: “Bandits to prison,” “We did everything right,” and “Don’t fire honest police officers.”
“Why are they firing police officers who did a decent job and prevented hooligans from causing a pogrom? What did they do wrong? We categorically disagree with this and intend not to offend the guys. It’s better if they fire Katerynchuk,” Anti-Maidan activist Nina Kochanovskaya commented on the action.
It should be noted that during the rally, a message was received about a car being mined under the building, which is why the anti-Maidan protesters were not allowed to approach it directly.
The rally ended in a clash with Maidan supporters: Mark Gordienko and several associates arrived under the building. They began to provoke the Kulikovo residents by swearing obscenely at Russian President Vladimir Putin. The verbal altercation escalated into a full-fledged confrontation. As a result, one Maidan supporter threw a woman onto the asphalt, another Maidan supporter was beaten and his T-shirt was torn. The conflict was soon stopped by the police.
As Navigator reported, on the night of July 3-4, law enforcement officers, with the help of private security, dispersed activists of nationalist organizations who tried to disrupt the concert of Ukrainian singer Ani Lorak in Odessa at the Ibiza nightclub. As a result, 5 Odessa police officers were fired.
