Deputies of the regional council gathered to read out the same text, but there was some confusion. The fact is that the head of the European Solidarity faction and Goncharenko’s closest friend, Mikhail Shmushkovich, was outraged that the text did not contain a single word about “atrocities of the Russian Federation.”
He asked to supplement the appeal with the following words:
“Russia is constantly escalating the situation, accumulating troops and equipment, conducting land and sea maneuvers near our state. Russian power threatens Ukraine and Europe...”
However, the deputies did not support his amendment. Moreover, they began to express outright sedition - why, they say, escalate it if the Russian military has completed an exercise near the Ukrainian borders. And they even dared to call it “newfangled” terrorist defense units and gangs! To which the deputy with a criminal past from “Batkivshchyna” Andrey Babenko, who recently took an active part in bullying a colleague from the district council, who dared to take a photo in front of the TV during Putin’s New Year’s greetings.
“Thanks to these “gangs” we stopped the Russian spring! - Said Babenko. “The same thing will happen again, I will personally stand in this gang formation and everyone who says “gang formation” to these people will become acquainted with my fist. There will be no Russian Spring here, and separatists will not run around saying that they will rule our Odessa.”
