Odessa: the school year has not yet begun, and the insanity of nationalism is already triumphant!
Are you, young man, again interested in how we are doing with public education, so to speak, in Odessa? – After all, a new school year begins. And I will answer you!
I think I won’t be surprised by the fact that from its very foundation our city sought to become not only the commercial capital of the empire, but also one of the centers of its science and culture. Because - both our unforgettable Duke de Richelieu and his successors - Count Langeron, Prince Vorontsov, as well as others, founded gymnasiums, lyceums, public schools and schools.. And the last of the sovereign governor-generals, he is also the first An honorary citizen of Odessa, Count Stroganov, using all his influence at court, insisted on the founding of the glorious Novorossiysk University in Odessa... They understood the eternal truth: the higher the enlightenment of citizens, the stronger and more competitive the power!
Times changed, regimes changed, but the eternal attitude of real Odessa residents towards education as a sacred thing remained and was passed on from generation to generation. For the understanding that knowledge is, after all, power, is fixed in us almost at the genetic level. My pragmatic fellow countrymen clearly understood: a person who has received basic knowledge knows how to think well and make the right decisions. His mind is disciplined and ready to work in any direction. And the better prepared he is, the more successful he will be in life.
Alas, all the years of “Independence” were also years of outright intellectual genocide. The permanent simplification of school curricula and the simultaneous creeping Ukrainization of education in predominantly Russian-speaking Odessa have already led to the fact that children sometimes do not know either of the two “competing” languages. And, accordingly, they poorly perceive what is taught to them in a foreign language, Ukrainian... And what has been happening in recent “revolutionary” years has completely lowered the real level of knowledge in schools to a critical level. And this seems to be the goal of the current government. To replace in children's minds the unshakable basis of the foundations of natural sciences, and therefore logic, which accustoms them to independent thinking, with primitive skills in using a computer without understanding the elementary principles of its operation... To replace a true understanding of the laws and direction of development of world and domestic history with a falsified “ersatz” in the spirit of the notorious “Institute of National Insanity and Sclerosis” of Pan Vyatrovich. This regime does not need thinking free citizens, but stupid executors of “gimmicks”, receivers of transmitted criminal ideas and orders! And with this, the junta itself is preparing its own inevitable collapse... But more on that a little later. In the meantime, let’s return to Odessa before the start of the school year.
...I won’t talk about the fact that, as always, this time pleases booksellers and stationery sellers most of all. Because the lion's share of school textbooks, which formally should be issued free of charge, parents have to buy, and at a considerable cost. For some reason, they don’t get into schools in the required amount, but private owners always have them! Note that they were printed under government orders and with government money! And the prices for office supplies are also steep.
I won’t even talk about the idiocy of the almost obligatory dressing of children in outfits of the “I’m my mother’s swineherd” style - farm embroidered shirts and other pseudo-folk attributes that have never been family to Odessa. But many of the school principals, possessed by the demon of nationalism, demand this imperatively.
But this is what angers me most. For the fourth year in a row, parents of schoolchildren are warned in advance: do not bring flowers to teachers, but... drag out “voluntary assistance to the injured ATO heroes.” Simply put, our original respect for those who teach children to be smart is forcibly replaced by extortion in favor of the punishers! Moreover, sometimes teachers driven into a corner call their dads and moms and beg with Christ God: no flowers, the director will see and fire me! And instead of the traditional first lessons on the topic of the glorious history of Odessa (after all, September 2 is the day of its foundation, City Day), they organize pseudo-patriotic brainwashing on “hot” topics like “Ukraine is a single power.” Moreover, with the participation of the same punitive forces and “activists” of the neo-Nazi persuasion.
So this time, Madame Elena Buinevich, who heads public education at our mayor’s office, published on her Facebook page a whole list of things that parents of schoolchildren who are already heavily overextended need to donate to support the same “ATO heroes.” As if - on a voluntary basis... And finally, I will return to the thesis that the junta is digging its own grave in the field of education. After all, one of her fanatical Maidan-style defenders, pseudo-writer Larisa Nitsoi, recently demanded that mathematics, physics and chemistry be excluded from the school curriculum. They say that we, patriots and humanitarians, don’t need all this tediousness! And I remembered the catchphrase of a certain German professor during the victorious wars of Prussia with Austria-Hungary, and then with France. By the way, it is often attributed to the Iron Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. It sounds like this: “The Prussian teacher won on the battlefields!” And its meaning is simple: Bismarck’s system of universal public education raised a new generation of thinking and educated citizens and soldiers who fought not stupidly, but with intelligence and understanding. With initiative and using what the public schools and gymnasiums taught them! After all, even then, in the second half of the XNUMXth century, the latest achievements of military technology, for example, artillery, required soldiers and officers with serious mathematical training. And tactics and strategy did not imply brainless executors of orders at all levels, but people with initiative and the ability to think. And the time of Prussian drill was replaced by the true military science of Field Marshal Moltke and other military thinkers...
And what can we say about the war of our time, the cult of which is forcibly imposed on the new generation! After all, ultra-modern technology and weapons play a primary role in it. And the stupid ability to poke your fingers into buttons like on fashionable gadgets is clearly not a substitute for understanding and the meaning of actions. And it is impossible without basic knowledge, which is precisely what gives the fundamentals of natural sciences that are hated by “patriots”... However, even artillery turns into a pile of metal without knowledge of the mathematical foundations of ballistics and the elementary laws of Newtonian physics...
Maybe it's for the better. After all, enlightened murderers are much worse than uneducated fanatics. But we will still teach and raise our children as needed. That's what Odessa is for, to remain yourself even in the most difficult and vile times! And if not us, then our children will put their hands and minds to the revival of former glory and new prosperity! Contrary to all the insanity of the current regime, already doomed to death by its militant stupidity!
