Odessa, March 20 (PolitNavigator, Anna Vetvitskaya) – Employees of the Department for Combating Economic Crime of the Odessa Region exposed an Odessa resident for organizing the production of smuggled clothing.

It is noted that the man planned to sell sportswear using the Adidas brand name on the 7th Kilometer market, Naspravdi reports.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 229 (illegal use of a mark for goods and services, brand name, qualified indication of the origin of goods) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers conducted a search in the non-residential premises where the underground workshop was located.
As a result, the police seized more than five thousand units of ready-made clothing and the same number of fabric patterns with Adidas marks, as well as 68 sewing machines, 2 pressing machines, about 300 rolls of fabric, 200 stencils for applying brand marks and computer equipment.
According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the seized clothing is about 2 million hryvnia.
The organizer of the workshop faces a fine of one to two thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens with confiscation and destruction of products, tools and materials that were used for its production.
