Odessa resident refuted the Moscow expert’s self-indulgent nonsense
The criminal prosecution of Russian citizens for visiting Crimea introduced by the Ukrainian authorities is a temporary phenomenon; everything will get better in the future. Moscow political scientist Igor Shatrov stated this on the Rossiya-24 channel.
“In this regard, I remember the story with Georgia, similar Georgian laws apply to Abkhazia and South Ossetia... The situation has changed, and Russians go to Georgia on vacation, and no one is interested in whether they were in Abkhazia and South Ossetia before or not. This is a temporary phenomenon,” said Shatrov.
In itself, the “temporary phenomenon” - the repression of Russians in Ukraine - will not disappear, recalled former Odessa City Council deputy Igor Dimitriev, who took part in the clashes on May 2, 2014, who was present in the studio. Meanwhile, Russia has practically no leverage left to influence the situation in Ukraine, Dimitriev noted.
“In order to relieve tension in relations with Ukraine, it is necessary to carry out systematic work - just as Ukraine is carrying out systematic work to cut off any contacts between citizens loyal to Russia within the country and Russia itself.
In the same way, it is necessary to carry out active work in the Ukrainian direction, but it has failed. Almost all experts admit this.
