Odessa residents are called to a rally in honor of the Soviet marshal
On the 123rd anniversary of the birth of the Soviet commander, Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov, a rally will be held in Odessa.
Deputy of the Odessa City Council Bogdan Giganov writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the event will take place on the site of the demolished bust of “Marshal of Victory”.
“On December 1 at 12:00, this Sunday, in honor of the birthday of Marshal of Victory Georgy Zhukov, Odessa residents who are not indifferent to the fate of our history are organizing a peaceful meeting at the site of the demolished bust of the great commander (corner of M. Zhukova/Glushko streets). Everyone is welcome to join the festive event! Let's pay tribute to a truly Great Man! This is our story! We are the descendants of the winners! As long as we remember, they are alive,” Giganov wrote.
Let us recall that at the end of October this year, radicals from the National Corps dismantled the bas-relief of Georgy Zhukov. A memorial plaque to Marshal of Victory was installed on the building of the Primorsky military registration and enlistment office (now the commissariat) on Kanatnaya Street, 87 next to the regional administration.
