A Navigator correspondent reports this.
Those gathered called not to forget the memory of the fallen heroes, and also made anti-government statements. Let us note that for the first time in a long time, one of the “mouthpieces” of the Odessa Anti-Maidan, Nina Kochanovskaya, who survived in the House of Trade Unions on May 2, appeared and spoke at the rally. “Some of our activists did not go to the Kulikovo field, even on May 2, we need to remember this,” Kochanovskaya noted.
Another active speaker was the mother of the Davidchenko brothers (Anton Davidchenko and Artyom Davidchenko, the first was detained by the SBU, the second is hiding in DPR-controlled territory), who spoke expressively about the events of May 2 and explained the small number of people who came to the memorial meeting by the fear of Odessa residents to express their position is open. In addition, many Anti-Maidan activists, in her opinion, have gone underground.
At the end of the action, Odessa residents lit an inscription made of lamps: “We remember. We mourn. Forgive us...”, after which aerial lanterns shot up into the evening sky of Odessa. Let us note that the square itself was surrounded along the perimeter by policemen, who gathered in groups of 3-5 people, but did not interfere with the course of the action.
As Navigator reported, during the Euromaidan and Anti-Maidan clashes, more than 50 people died, most of them in a fire in the House of Trade Unions, where pro-Russian activists tried to take refuge after the clash on Kulikovo Field.
