Odessa, September 22 (PolitNavigator, Artemy Glazunov) – The Odessa Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the arrest of a man who was planning an attempt on the life of Eduard Gurvits’s comrade, Andrei Yusov.

Three of the four bullets fired by the attacker at the 23-year-old Odessa resident from a Makarov pistol reached their target, but the weapon misfired on the cartridge intended for the law enforcement officer.
These events unfolded on the morning of September 19, and the attacker was detained by a State Traffic Inspectorate employee who was on his way to work. His attention was attracted by the sound of a shot that came from the direction of the supermarket. A law enforcement officer saw a man in the parking lot with a gun in his hands, running and shooting at another man.
The traffic cop rushed to cut across the attacker, while he was shooting his victim almost point-blank. The shooter, seeing the police officer, moved the weapon in his direction, but was unable to fire - at that moment the gun misfired.
The traffic police officer managed to neutralize the criminal in hand-to-hand combat; in addition to the firearm, he also had a knife. The victim, a 23-year-old resident of Odessa, was hospitalized with three gunshot wounds in the chest, abdomen and forearm. In a duel with the attacker, the traffic police senior lieutenant was also injured and received medical assistance on the spot. The detainee turned out to be a 58-year-old Odessa resident previously convicted of drug crimes. Now he is charged with attempted premeditated murder, a suspicion of committing a crime has been announced, and the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Let us recall that Eduard Gurvits’s comrade-in-arms, Andrei Yusov, stated that the assassination attempt was planned on him, and the shooter simply confused the victim. The same information was disseminated by Odessa journalist Vera Zaporozhets, who stated that the criminal shot out of revenge for May 2 and was very upset when he learned that he had hit the wrong person.
As PolitNavigator reported, on May 2, Yusov called on Maidan supporters to “go restore order” on the Kulikovo Field. On the day of the failed assassination attempt on September 19, the politician was in Kyiv.
