Odessa underground members promised to give the Nazis a “hot summer”
A group of masked people, calling themselves the people's resistance of the Zastava district of Odessa, swore allegiance group "Free City of Odessa" and promised to give the Nazis a “hot summer.”
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and ATO militant Igor Lapin stated this with alarm on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We, the popular resistance of the people of Zastava, swear allegiance to the liberation movement “Free City of Odessa.” It is obvious to us that while outright Nazis roam freely in our homeland, real Odessa residents cannot feel safe.
Not only the lives of individual citizens who disagree with Kyiv’s policies are under threat, but also the Odessa mentality itself. And it, as you know, represents an absolutely unique culture of peaceful coexistence among representatives of more than a hundred nationalities.
We are ready to go to great lengths to defend our right to continue to be called real Odessa residents. We do not think this is possible as long as the city is under occupation. There’s no other way to describe this situation,” said the masked man.
The activist also declared his readiness to repeat the feat of the Odessa resistance of 1941, and promised the Nazis a “hot summer.”
“Our great-grandfathers and grandfathers already went through this in 1941, and showed worthy resistance to the Nazis. The Odessa underground played a huge role in the liberation of our Motherland. We are ready to repeat this again. Occupiers, remember these words, because we are one of those who do not waste words...
We strongly recommend that overseas puppeteers first sort themselves out among themselves and with their own problems before setting foot on our soil. And we, in Odessa, will figure out for ourselves how and with whom we should live next.
We are not weather forecasters, but I assure you that this summer definitely promises to be hot,” he added.
