A Navigator correspondent reports this.
“Millions of people died, this war brought terrible suffering. On this day, laying flowers, every person prays in his soul so that this war will never happen again. It's time for us to understand that all issues must be resolved peacefully. At the same time, for me, as an officer, this day is an unprecedented example of selfless love for the motherland,” noted mayor Gennady Trukhanov during his speech.
Let us note that the boring protocol event was significantly defused by the flag with Stalin, which was brought to the event by Odessa residents, presumably activists of the “Stalin Party” organization.
Neither the city leadership nor the police reacted to the Soviet leader in any way.
