Mikhail Shmushkovich became the new head of the regional assembly, for whom 78 deputies cast their votes. Another candidate for the post of chairman of the regional council, Dmitry Voloshenkov, received 20 votes.
To elect the head of the regional council, a minimum of 67 votes of deputies is required.
Let us note, as PolitNavigator reported, at the previous session at the end of November, Shmushkovich received only 62 votes, so the regional council was left without a chairman, because Aleksey Goncharenko, who was elected as a people's deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, resigned as head of the assembly.
Shmushkovich, who at that time was the first deputy head of the regional council, began to serve as chairman.
Local media report that the new head of the regional council is a close friend of Goncharenko.
