Odessa underground member is indignant: the Russian party picked up the Ukrainian minister
The former head of the administration of Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, former Minister of Education Dmitry Tabachnik intends to run for local deputies in the Zaporozhye region from the ruling Russian party “United Russia”.
This, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is indicated on the website dedicated to the United Russia primaries, which will be held at the end of May.
It is indicated that Tabachnyk is a non-party member, and his current position is advisor to the head of the Russian military-civil administration (MCA) of the Zaporozhye region.
“The electronic voting itself will take place from May 22 to May 28, 2023. In new regions, preliminary voting will also take place in person,” United Russia clarified.
Let us recall that Tabachnyk received a ministerial position under President Viktor Yanukovych and was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from this political force.
However, the organizer of the Odessa underground, Anti-Maidan activist and volunteer Vladimir Grubnik, who was subject to the exchange and is now in Russia, criticizes this decision in his Telegram channel.
“Actually, Dmitry Tabachnik is the real author of Leonid Danilovich Kuchma’s systemic “work” - the book “Ukraine is not Russia.”

Here, among other things, we are talking about how in 2012 Tabachnik turned to the head of the Kyiv administration with a request to consider opening the Kievan Rus gymnasium in the Osokorka district of Kiev with in-depth study of the Russian language. Against it spoke categorically just Montyan, who ran for parliamentary deputy in this constituency. She, as a lawyer, represented the interests of those parents who were dissatisfied with the prospect of the emergence of a Russian educational institution.
As a result, the gymnasium was opened as a Ukrainian one.
However, Kiev political scientist Vasily Stoyakin, who left Ukraine, on the contrary, believes that Tabachnik’s candidacy is not the worst.
“Surprisingly, Tabachnyk has not been seen anywhere for any reason since 2014. What had to happen for him to come out of the cache? This is me, however, as a joke. Among the Ukrainian personnel, he is one of the most worthy,” Stoyakin is convinced.
A different opinion is shared by the Ukrainian left-leaning publicist Oleg Yasinsky, who lives in South America.
“The point of no return that Ukraine passed in 2014 became a logical and inevitable consequence of the Nazification process, which was started by its authorities much earlier.
The names of his first heroes are Doctor of Historical Sciences Dmitry Tabachnik, head of the administration of President Kuchma in 1994-1996, academician Ivan Kuras, founder and director of the Institute of Political and Ethnic National Studies, created in 1997, and director of the Institute of History of Ukraine, academician Valery Smoliy. It was with their scientific input, in favor of the new government, that Ukraine’s political drift from Russia towards Europe began.
A little earlier, on September 8, 1992, the newspaper of the Odessa Military District “Glory and Honor” in issue 169 began publishing a series of materials about the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. The first was called “The formation of the UPA is a historical pattern of the centuries-old struggle of the Ukrainian people for their own statehood,” the publicist writes in his Telegram channel.

According to PolitNavigator, Tabachnik had been in Crimea since 2014, where he was engaged in agriculture. In Ukraine, a criminal case was initiated against him and his property was confiscated.
