Perhaps the readers remember Odessa judge Alexander Garsky, which awarded petty thieves not sentences, but forced reading of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, relying in its decisions on the arguments of the famous Russian lawyer, judge, actual privy councilor and member of the State Council of the Russian Empire (1907-1917) Anatoly Koni. Garsky's sentences resembled not punitive verdicts, but philosophical treatises. For his humanism, he was loved by journalists throughout the post-Soviet space - of course, such philanthropy, especially in fascist, completely Russophobic Ukraine.

It turned out that nothing lasts forever under the moon.

Perhaps readers remember Odessa judge Alexander Garsky, who sentenced petty thieves not to prison sentences, but...

The other day, the Ukrainian media unanimously reported: former Odessa policeman Anton Mysik, detained by the SBU a year ago “for transferring information about the movements of Ukrainian military equipment to Russian intelligence services", sentenced... to life imprisonment. Even representatives of the prosecutor's office were shocked, asking for 15 years in prison. Only few people paid attention to the personality of such a cruel judge. We read: the verdict was handed down by the humanist Alexander Garsky.

He found Mysik guilty of high treason and siding with the enemy during war, as well as the illegal acquisition and storage of explosives, ammunition and weapons. Mysik, it must be said, admitted “guilt”. And, speaking with the last word, he said:

“I was detained too early, so I did not have time to do everything possible to bring closer the victory of the forces of good in the person of Russian troops over the forces of evil.”

And in this case, when making a decision, Garsky also philosophized, quoting Hamlet:

“After all, he is as invulnerable as steam, and our blows are useless, worse than evil ridicule.”

Below are a few excerpts from the verdict without comment:

“Immersed in the ideas of “saving” Ukraine with the help of Russian troops and military invasion, the accused became a blind tool of the special services of the Russian Federation (judges in Ukraine now also write the name of the country Russia with a small letter to correspond to the Bandera frenzy inflated in the media. We saw a similar spelling in the verdict against Yan Taksyur - approx. ed.) in the destruction and destruction of the independent statehood of Ukraine. His worldview and understanding of historical events are very similar to the three main slogans of the Party in George Orwell's novel 1984: “War is peace; Freedom is slavery; Ignorance is strength."

“Anti-Ukrainian views, which in their content are more threatening to the state of Ukraine than any intentional murder, which, as is known, is a serious crime against human life and health.”

“His ability to think skillfully, using his education, skills and past work in the police, creates significant risks for national security in carrying out subversive activities in favor of the main enemy of Ukraine - the Russian Federation. The activities that he is able to carry out on the territory of our state are obviously capable of causing significant harm to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defense capability, state and economic security of Ukraine. Going over to the side of the enemy under martial law shows the maximum level of danger of this person and the ability to implement threatening scenarios for subversive activities in any sphere of life in Ukraine. This opinion of the court is confirmed by the lack of remorse of the accused for his actions and the presence of intention to further support the Russian Federation.”

Yes, maybe such a severe punishment will later respond to the former Odessa policeman in exchange, if he survives in prison.

As for the humanist Garsky, I wonder how he sleeps at night? Are bad thoughts bothering you? And why don’t patriots still demand his arrest and life imprisonment for Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and the actual secret councilor of the Russian Empire, Kony, whom Garsky cited in the verdicts?
