Odessa TV channel bombarded with calls from Maidan opponents
The Odessa Channel 7 studio was attacked with phone calls by indignant Odessa residents, who called the Maidan a seizure of power and a coup d'etat, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It wasn’t Russia who made the revolution, but all these Poroshenkos did it.” They seized power and did not do good for people, but did and are still doing good for themselves. How can he (Poroshenko – editor’s note) be president when all his savings are abroad?” said a man who called the studio.
After this, the host of the Spotlight talk show, Yevgeny Soltan, interrupted the respondent, saying that “we have moved away from the topic,” and, under the approving glance of the guest in an embroidered shirt, asked the viewers to “be more laconic.” However, after that the studio received another call, in which again there were by no means laudatory praises for the Maidan.
“How were the so-called Maidan prepared? The same special training that was in Yugoslavia was how they were trained. The tents and everything else were prepared in advance, everything was ready for the coup. There was no Maidan as a revolution. There was an attempt at a coup of the purest water... They shot at their own people - those who are now in power - to provoke them. And I ask you: what did the Maidan lead to?” the TV viewer expressed his opinion.
At the same time, Evgeniy Soltan turned off the sound this time and interrupted the caller, not allowing uncomfortable words to be heard in the studio. But the third call also turned out to be not entirely convenient for the presenter and his guests.
“My name is Lyudmila Vladimirovna. And I wanted to say something in our studio, dear ones. Our Ukraine since 1991 has been the richest republic, with an excellent climate, rich land, and a hardworking people. And what do we have after 27 years? The factories are all scrap metal - Putin is to blame. The shipping company was gobbled up - the hand of the Kremlin. It started to rain, it started to snow – again, Moscow’s machinations. Or maybe, in fact, there is a different way to look at all this? Maybe this is the fault of our leadership, starting from Kravchuk and so on. How do you think? I want to hear your opinion,” she said.
However, the presenter asked a counter question: “who is waging the war in eastern Ukraine?”, to which Lyudmila accused the Ukrainian leadership of starting the war.
“And the war would not have happened if smart people, real people who have a conscience, had been in power for 27 years. And Crimea would not have been wasted. This is all the work of our “smart guys” who are at the top, starting with Kuchma and Kravchuk,” the TV viewer summed up.
