Odessa TV presenter: Why do the Crimean Tatars have the right to autonomy, but the Rusyns do not?
Petro Poroshenko’s statements about his readiness to provide the Crimean Tatars with territory in the Kherson region for the organization of national autonomy demonstrates injustice towards other national minorities of Ukraine. For example, the Rusyns in Transcarpathia have been seeking the creation of autonomy for many years, but official Kyiv ignores their demands. Both Hungarians and Romanians also asked for autonomy.

And everyone said: “What do we need?” The Rusyns say: wait a minute, how long do we insist on recognizing us as a people - just as we are recognized by neighboring states - Slovakia, Hungary? Where is our leader, the priest whom Ukraine threw in prison?”
As a resident of Odessa, I know the situation - how people who said that it would be nice to pay attention to cultural diversity in Ukrainian Bessarabia were captured and imprisoned. They were immediately sent to prison!
But, firstly, you cannot jail everyone, although the Ukrainian authorities are striving for this. Secondly, this is a demand of both Hungarians and Romanians – not just individual deputies! Such statements have already been made by the President of Romania, the Prime Minister and Minister of Hungary! From the President of the Czech Republic!” – recalls Kvasnyuk.
