An Odessa TV presenter on air ridiculed the myth of the “revival of Crimea with Ukrainian money”
Odessa TV presenter Grigory Kvasnyuk, on the air of a new episode of the Pravda program, ridiculed the myth about the “revival of Crimea with Ukrainian money.” This is how he commented on the statements of Ukrainian politicians who claim that the peninsula became prosperous only because in 1954 Nikita Khrushchev transferred Crimea to the Ukrainian SSR, and Ukrainian money was spent on it.

“Today they tell us how Ukraine built and restored for decades, and all “for its own money”... Yes, there was no “Ukrainian money”, “Kazakh” or “Turkmen money” in the Soviet Union! There was all-Union money! More or less large-scale construction was carried out throughout the country. And the decision on such construction was made at the highest level in Moscow,” Kvasnyuk recalled.
According to him, Ukraine, in turn, is today putting up for sale the last facilities remaining in state ownership and built by the entire USSR, such as the Odessa port plant, through which ammonia is exported from Togliatti.
“Why don’t they remember that you are not selling what was built by Ukraine, but what was built by the entire country?” – said Kvasnyuk.
