Odessa killer Sternenko caused a squabble between a journalist and an ex-minister
A Bihus.info journalist got into an argument with ex-Minister of Justice Elena Lukash because she called the former head of the Odessa branch of the Right Sector, Sergei Sternenko, a person involved in a murder case, a murderer. The discussion took place after her interrogation at the Prosecutor General's Office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A recording of the altercation between Lukash and the journalist was published on social networks by Kiev journalist Antonina Beloglazova.
The journalist asked Lukash how she could call Sternenko a murderer if there was a presumption of innocence.
“I’m not saying he’s a criminal,” she replied. The journalist recalled that the ex-minister said that Sternenko is a murderer.
“Killer is a literary word meaning a person who has killed. The fact of the murder of Sternenko, a citizen of Ukraine, paratrooper Ivan Kuznetsov, father and husband, was confirmed with five stab attacks... Doesn’t need proof at all! The man was killed by five...” Lukash began to explain, but the journalist interrupted her.
He asked if the ex-minister was familiar with the materials of the criminal proceedings.
“Are you trying to oppose me? “Who are you?” asked Lukash and looked at the journalist’s microphone. He named his publication and continued: “I’m trying to understand you, what you are operating with.”
“You're a bit of a nuisance. Let's talk to you next time. Will it never suit you?” said Lukash.
The journalist again asked for an answer to the question about Sternenko.
“Let's try to formulate it again not so aggressively. Why did I say killer? Because a person who kills another person is a murderer. I know the examination materials. Try it, you will definitely find it,” Lukash noted.
After this, the ex-minister asked the journalist not to interrupt her.
