Odessa Euromaidanites do not feel sorry for the civilian population of Donbass – media
Moscow - Kyiv, September 22 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The burning of people in Odessa on May 2 is considered by the majority of local Euromaidan activists to be an act of civil confrontation in which they won. Now they are volunteers of the “Human Security Council,” they call themselves “warriors of light.” Some of them are interested in the fate of people in Donbass, some have relatives there, but there are also those who don’t care whether civilians die there or not, for them it is an enemy, a traitor, a separatist, writes Novaya Gazeta.

After the victory of the revolution in Kyiv, the Odessa Euromaidan was divided into three groups, the publication reports. The first is the “Right Sector of Odessa” with a unique local specificity: on Saturdays, some of its leaders have a closed day - Shabbat. The second group are members of the UDAR party who focused on a political career. These also include people like Alexei Goncharenko, who headed Poroshenko’s Solidarity in the city. And the third group - the Rada of Community Security - grew out of the Euromaidan headquarters on Zhukovsky, 36. Its activists became volunteers and, probably, the main public “lustrators”.
Every evening from six to nine, volunteers are on duty at stores, collecting voluntary aid for ATO soldiers. Two women and I are standing at the entrance to a hypermarket in a residential area, handing out leaflets with a list of what the soldiers of the Ukrainian army need. People react differently, some swear and slander, but many buy according to the list and at their own discretion.
“For volunteers, the anti-terrorist operation has been a war for a long time. The war with Russia, which has clearly invaded their lives,” states the author of a report about the “warriors of light” in a Moscow liberal publication with pathos.
