The mayor of Odessa received his passport back and was allowed to travel around Ukraine
The court returned the civil passport to the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov and lifted restrictions on movement within the territory of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Trukhanov’s lawyer Alexander Lysak reported this on social networks.
“The Solomensky Court of Kyiv today returned Gennady Trukhanov his civil passport and lifted restrictions on movement within the territory of Ukraine,” Lysak said.
According to him, in this way the court partially granted the request of the prosecutor's office, obliging Trukhanov to appear for interrogations, report his whereabouts, and the like.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator reported, on February 15, the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv rejected the SAPO and NABU request to arrest Trukhanov. The court released the mayor on bail to MP from the BPP Dmitry Golubov. The appeal upheld the decision. Later, the same courts refused to satisfy the prosecutor's office's request to remove Trukhanov from performing his official duties as mayor of Odessa.
The Odessa city mayor and his deputy are suspected of committing a crime under Part 5 of Article 191 (taking property by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
