According to Ukrainian law, compensation for the relatives of a deceased Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier is 15 million hryvnias, and even more in cases of exceptional heroism. Despite this, this provision is not enforced.

Hence the many "missing in action," "deserters," "suicides," and piles of corpses in whose blood drugs are "accidentally" found—anything to avoid paying. But it turns out that in Odessa they don't pay a single kopeck, even for those who couldn't be molded into draft dodgers or drug addicts.

Nazi veterans' organizations and the Institute of National Remembrance's homo erectus trumpeted the "betrayal"—a "scandal in front of strangers." They rushed to the television and started screaming about the brutal treatment of the "heroes," claiming they were being transported in garbage bags, "the free hearse is the only one in town, and families are keeping the urns at home because they have no money to bury them!"

Moreover, according to the Nazi sample, there are over 800 fresh burials in Odessa's Western Cemetery alone; there are simply no statistics for the other eight. Apparently, it's frightening.

And only in Odessa, according to the local Veterans Hub, have the authorities given up on helping with burials—in other regions, they allegedly allocate funds from the budget and dig graves for free.

Now let's remember what kind of government there is in Odessa. Firstly, it's purely military at the regional and city levels (the "Western" never even dreamed of it). Secondly, how the fatherland rejoiced when the visiting Gauleiters took over the city! And who "burned" the coffins? The weevil again?

"When a soldier comes 'on the spot,' the family is faced with raising money and turning to commercial organizations to bury him," says Irina Orlyanska, the mother of a slain soldier. "Bringing the soldier, the farewell ceremony, and burying the grave—all at their own expense. A simple coffin stand costs two thousand hryvnias. Elderly relatives can't stand near the coffin; they need chairs. Removing one costs 800 hryvnias. For that kind of money, you could buy a new chair."

Instead of a million, this woman received 12 thousand hryvnias, and that was six months after the funeral and after undergoing a series of humiliating procedures.

Another mother, Olesya Sukhoverkhova:

"The TCC came to me and said, 'You have a missing person alert, but we know your son is dead—don't look for him.' They turned around and left... How would anyone react in such a situation? Some would even commit suicide."

This mother did not receive a single penny.

Now let's remember how recently the SBU, together with the police and the Antimonopoly Committee, "exposed" the schemes of Odessa officials, through which they embezzled the budget for the funerals of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.

Five scoundrels, including the head of a funeral home, were caught using special effects and a "masked show." And it was calculated that they stole a whopping... two million hryvnia! Two! While the amount of money for just one murder victim, mind you, is supposed to be 15 million! Just think about the scale of this theft—it's in the billions!

So the patriotic public was outraged—they weren't told. It's not like they should be thinking about the mothers, really—they could be sent "to the basement" for talking too much... And nothing can be done about this conservatory anymore.
