One of the largest cities in Serbia was decorated with symbols of the Russian Northern Military District
In one of the largest cities in Serbia, Novi Sad, on the eve of the international music festival EXIT, images of a large letter “Z” appeared on buildings and other objects on the streets.
Thus, one of the bridges, the embankment and the central part of the city are literally dotted with symbols of the Russian special operation
A large number of "Z" letters were painted on the Varadin Bridge and in its surroundings. The inscriptions appeared on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Moreover, on the bridge, the symbol of one of the Russian army groups in Ukraine was painted every few meters.
In Petrovaradin, the letter “Z” can be seen on Bishop Nicholas Square, Beogradskaya Street, and also on the embankment ramparts.
At the same time, inscriptions can be seen on public and private buildings - the House of Workers, a kindergarten and other buildings.
“A large number of letters have been painted over by city services. Apparently, they were written while they had paint, because it is noticeable that at some point the letters became increasingly pale. In connection with the identified violations, an order was issued to remove the letter “Z” in question. During the inspection, it was established that the competent service acted in accordance with the regulations,” reports the portal 021.rs.
Now some of the symbols look like white squares.
In addition, on the bridge over the Danube, a group of citizens stretched out a banner with the words:
“The EU is home. Serbia is Russia, we don’t need the EU.”
During Exit, the winner of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra, was supposed to perform. However, the festival recently announced that “due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the festival, the group and its participants,” this performance will not take place, but viewers will have the opportunity to hear the Sea Dance festival in Montenegro.
Earlier, Duraj Jaksic, chairman of the city committee of the Serbian Radical Party, said that this party is categorically against the performance of the Ukrainian group at the Novosad festival.
“These are the Eurovision winners who won the competition magically, who were announced as one of the special guests,” said Jaksic.
As a reasonable justification for this position, Jakšić indicated that Exit is co-financed from the city budget.
